Even quieter today, at Cortonwood, with only 2 bird species making it into the notebook : 1 Cormorant & 2 Buzzard.
And 2 fungi species making it onto the memory card ;
Shaggy Inkcap
Lycoperdon pyriforme : aka - Stump Puffball, Pear-shaped Puffball, and my favourite Wolf-fart Puffball.
And i`ll finish off with some late news from yesterday. In the evening i took the dog out to Cortonwood, in the hope of connecting with a Tawny Owl. I went one better and happened upon a Barn Owl hunting around the Spoil Heap. It was a real magical sight, especially as the bird was illuminated by the lights from the Retail Park. Glow in the dark bird... Fantastic :-)

Thanks, all.
A great bird to see anywhere, and not just on the patch.
Just got back from another evening visit. Nothing at all, this time.
Dean ,
Really like that fourth option on the fungi too .
Also like alternative for Shaggy Inkcap-Lawyer's Wig .
Well done with the Barn Owl .
What wonderful names that last fungus has, I too like the last one best. ;-)
I'm envious of your sighting of the Barn Owl, they really are something special to see. Well done.
Thanks, Greenie/Toffeeapple.
