Saturday 7th November

Sunny, W/SW f1>2

Still not much doing at Cortonwood, this morning. Although i did add 2 species to the November list : 1 Grey Wagtail & 3 Jay ( 51). The best of the rest were the usual : 1 Great Crested Grebe, 6 Goosander & a single Kingfisher.

The fungi look like Cystoderma amianthinum (Earthy powdercap) and Mycena galericulata (Common bonnet)

Any landscapes make interesting photo ops Dean, it helps us put your sightings in context. Thant pond looks good, is there fish in it? I suppose there must be if it holds Grebes and Kingfisher. Lets hope the Baltic freezes this year and you get your Smew. How about 20th January...

Stewart : thanks, also. Yep, there`s fish in that there water. Plenty of em, too, of various sizes.
I`ll make a note of that date, and if a Smew is present, then you can pick me 6 numbers, and i`ll have a go at the lottery ;-)
