The moth trap produced 2 firsts of the year, with : Dark-barred Twin-spot Carpet & Flame Shoulder. The only other species was Garden Carpet ( 3 ) ;

Spent most of the day at Rawmarsh. Where a visit to the Stubbin area produced at least 6 Dingy Skippers ( my first of the year ) ;

It looks as though your whitethorn is starting to bloom. Ours isn't just yet.
It`s been flowering for the last few weeks Peggy.
Whitethorn : is that your local name for Hawthorn ?
